Art classes for children

My teaching journey began in 2016, and I have had the opportunity to teach and learn alongside students of all ages and abilities, including some children with special needs.

With children, I strive to offer the same loving attention that my late father had modelled for me as a child, with the hope that it will nurture the lifelong love for observation and details that I have inherited. I believe that children classes should run on a gentle, unhurried pace, with plenty of time for stories, responses, and even a bit of singing at times!

 

In this way, my students learn that art is not merely a curriculum subject, but rather, an acknowledgement of the richness and beauty in their everyday lives.

Teacher Komeil Zarin is truly gifted in both art AND in teaching young children. He tells stories with good moral values and makes them come to life through his drawings, sometimes even including a self-composed song. Yes, Teacher Komeil sings and plays the ukulele too! Teacher Komeil has the ability to lead and guide young children in completing their drawings within just 1 hour - his lessons are filled with skillful techniques yet simple enough for the little ones to follow. Teacher Komeil teaches with passion for art and love for the little ones. He has a big heart for giving and it is heartfelt through the way he conducts his classes. In fact, plus his calming voice, we even find his lessons therapeutic!

I have a teaching space (please contact me for more information as it changes from time to time) but also offer private classes at students’ homes. Please contact me for rates. If you have a space and would like to collaborate, I would be happy to hear from you too.

The pandemic lockdowns from 2020 had been a huge challenge in terms of reaching out to students, as well as to make a living. I had to pivot to online classes, which proved to be a huge learning experience that I am now, in hindsight, really grateful for.

 

In that time, I managed to deliver more than 100 online sessions on Zoom, reaching out to far more students than I ever could in the past. 

 

Online teaching is now a permanent component of my teaching, and I am excited about the potential opportunities it may bring.

 

I have been upgrading my gear from time to time, in order to give the best recording and audio experience I can. My setup includes a green screen, a professional mic with audio interface, and a laptop connected to a Wacom tablet for drawing.
